Practical Route Miles
Interstate Distributor Co. has been paying drivers with Practical
Route miles for many years. The majority of other companies pay
Short Route miles or Household miles which is the shortest legal
highway mileage from two points that can be taken. Practical Route
is the most time efficient method of driving, the more desirable
route of travel, and in most cases will increase miles you are paid
for.
Assigned Tractors
Tractors are assigned. If you are off for an extended amount of time
we may use your assigned tractor and you will be notified in
advance. When possible, the seating in the truck will be
ergonomically fitted to you for your comfort, health, and safety.
Personal Fleet Manager and Payroll Representative
Your assigned Fleet Manager looks out for your best interest while
keeping in mind customer requirements and the needs of the
company. They will keep you informed on what is going on within
the organization and resolve any issues or concerns. Drivers are
also assigned a payroll representative to answer questions
regarding pay and provide assistance with issues when necessary.

Pet Policy
We know that your cat or dog is like a family member. If you would
like to have your pet on the truck, you can participate in our Pet
Privilege Program. There is a required deposit and we ask that you
clean up after your pet when at an IDC yard.

Drivers completing our 2 day orientation will be paid $150.

which commonly includes airfare. Hotel accommodations are paid
as well as some meals

Our tractors are equipped with state-of-the art mobile satellite
communications using driver tech. This systems provides instant
communication between you and the office.
Scanning Solutions
Scanning equipment has been installed at our major manned
terminals to allow our drivers a more efficient way to submit their trip
envelopes and save money. We have also partnered with Trans
flow, TripPak, and Scan & Go at the major truck stop chains.
In July 2008 they started installing in-cab scanners in our tractors.
We are the first in the transportation industry to do so. Bringing
in-cab scanning right into the tractor is a win-win-win for driver and
for our customers.
