Minimum Qualifications

Age:

Applicant must be at least 23 years of age at time of application

License:

Driver must have a valid class A CDL. Driver shall hold only 1 license at any time

Experince: (defined as "verifiable, applicable tractor/trailer)

Must have at least 1 year OTR in CMV last 2 years (or) 2 years in CMV last 3 years (or) 3
years in CMV last 5 years

OTR driving for qualifications guidelines is defined as “driver must have logged and crossed
state lines”

Driving Record:

Can have no more than 1 DOT preventable accident per FMCSA 390.5 (1) in the last 3 years.
Can have no violation for careless or reckless driving in the 5 years prior to the application
date
Can have no violations for leaving the scene of an accident or hit and run in the 10 years
prior to the application date
Cannot have been discharged from last driving job for unsatisfactory safety driving record

Accidents/Moving Violations:

Can have no more than a combination of 3 preventable accidents (in Commercial Motor
Vehicle)/point able moving violations in the last 3 years

Drug\Alcohol:

Can have no conviction or incident for drugs in the 10 years prior to application date (or)
Can have no record of refusing or failing a drug or alcohol test in the 10 years prior to
application date (or)
Can have no record of DUI, DWI, OUI, or OWI in the 10 years prior to the application date
Can have no more than 1 DUI, DWI, OUI, or OWI in a life time

Felony:

Can have no felony convictions in the 10 years prior to the application date (only exception is
felonies for child support)
Can have no felony conviction ever, which resulted in the death of another individual
(All other felonies will be taken into consideration when reviewing driver applications)
An applicant may not currently be on probation, parole, or have a pending criminal charge
